Our Story

We believe lasting wellbeing comes from a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. We use creativity and fun to bring people together, building confidence, communication and wellbeing.

How did it begin?

In 2015 we put on our first intergenerational play ‘Ruby’s Voyage’. Through this, we saw how wonderful drama is for bringing generations together and breaking down barriers.

Emily was instrumental in working with Fall Into Place to set up as a not for profit company with the great support of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Emily had to step back from her director role in early 2017, but is still our supporter and friend.

Drama Hub

In early 2019 we launched our new Drama Hub at Kentmere Community Centre, where we can run all our community drama workshops under one, friendly and passionate roof.

Who’s Involved?

Sarah is a founding member and director at FIP.

Having had a love of drama and play-writing for all her life Sarah has experienced first-hand how theatre can improve confidence, form friendships and allow growth and exploration… whilst also creating a lot of laughs! Sarah is keen to provide drama opportunities to all of Yorkshire and is passionate about making drama accessible and fun for all people. Sarah specialises in intergenerational work, training and mental health.

Naomi is a Director and workshop facilitator at FIP.

Naomi believes in giving people a joint sense of ownership in the work they create. She aims to provide a supportive environment where everyone is given the freedom to express themselves creatively and without judgment. Naomi has a wide range of experience facilitating workshops and directing theatre for different ages, needs and abilities. She specialises in community projects and working with children and young people.

Vanessa is a Community Project Manager for Interact and Director for FIP.

I love being part of Fall Into Place because I believe Sarah and Naomi have seen what I’ve seen and are passionate about it. That is, the brilliance of theatre and drama to create space for people to connect, reflect, laugh, grow in confidence, challenge themselves, learn to be in different group dynamics and have plenty of fun. It’s great to be part of what they’re doing to help make all this more accessible to people in our area.

Joanne is the owner of Bramble Bakehouse and Director for FIP.

After training in performing arts and teaching performance in further education for 10 years I still have a real passion for the arts, especially its use in developing and exploring communities. Since I opened Bramble Bakehouse 3 years ago I have been trying to continue this passion through making the cafe a community hub as well as being involved in and running events and activities to support the local community. I was very honoured to be asked to be a director of Fall into Place and love being involved in another project that is doing such worthwhile work.

Nikki is a Service Coordinator for RVS and Director for FIP

In my role I simply encourage Sarah and Naomi to continue on their amazing journey with the fabulous Fall into Place, and am utterly thrilled to be on board.
I adore the various nuances of theatre; its ability to enliven the most timid person, or its ability to make one think or laugh or share stories. It builds confidence and trust between strangers. My degree is in Theatre and Performance and I dabble here and there outside my day job at the charity.
Extremely excited to see where FIP can take the team in the future!

Felicity is the Auditions & Music Department Co-ordinator for Opera North and Director for FIP.

I am inspired by the way that access to the arts can expand horizons and create a lasting, positive impact to individuals and communities beyond the performance itself. It’s been incredible witnessing the growth of Fall Into Place over the past couple of years; seeing more and more people, schools and companies putting their trust in the work that Sarah and Naomi do, and of course the brilliant outcomes that they achieve. I’m thrilled to be part of the Fall Into Place team and excited to see how far they’ll go!
