Creative wellbeing for your community
Creative workshops for the community
We use creative, lively activities to build confidence, wellbeing, form strong friendships, learn new skills and have a lot of fun!
We offer six to eight week ‘creative wellbeing’ sessions that are tailored to suit your group and what they’d most enjoy.
We can cover:
- Drama games and fun exercises
- Music and movement
- Creative writing
- Script work
- Improvisation
- Issued based theatre (exploring an issue using drama).
There is the option to have a small, friendly, ‘sharing back’ art piece at the end of the workshops, open to the wider community to attend. This art piece is chosen by the group – past sharing backs have included radio plays, comedy, creative writing and exhibitions.
Creating a safe space
We know that participating in drama can be daunting for some people. We work very hard to create a safe, friendly environment where people of ranging accessibility needs and comfort levels can feel safe to participate.
We carefully plan our sessions to gradually build participant’s confidence and connection, and give power to the participants by letting them decide the exercises they would like to try.
We also hold a consultation with the community group leader in advance, to ensure we know of any accessibility needs, any potential triggers and group preferences to ensure the experience of drama is as enjoyable as possible.
Testimony: Carers Leeds Project
In 2019-2020 we ran an 8 week drama project with Carers Leeds to support carers with their wellbeing. Carers Leeds said:
“The participants thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to express themselves through gentle and supportive sessions which Sarah facilitated with skill and sensitivity.
Some carers had no previous experience of drama and initially had little confidence about being involved in a performance. It is a testament to Sarah and her colleagues that they were able to engage carers in a series of weekly activities which culminated in performances which involved everyone who had participated.
Feedback from the carers was wholly positive and Carers Leeds would very much like to work with Fall into Place again.” – Sian Cartwright, Head of Health and Development
