“Improving the wellbeing of charity workers through creativity”

Charity workers across Yorkshire/England will be given the opportunity to take part in creative workshops online throughout July and August.

The workshops (funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England) will be run for charity workers and volunteers in Yorkshire. These workshops will include elements of dance, drama, movement and games, culminating with each charity team creating their own art piece about community spirit.

The aim of the workshops is to bring teams together during a time of separation, boost their wellbeing and provide a creative outlet to those who are working hard to support their communities.

The workshops have been set up by a partnership between Fall into Place Theatre, a not for profit theatre organisation, and Minoti Parikh, a Trainer and Team Building expert who facilitates wellbeing workshops with a focus on movement and dance, both based in Leeds.

Sarah Goodyear, from Fall into Place Theatre, says about the project; “We saw what amazing work the third sector was doing in Yorkshire, and how hard teams are working to support their local communities.

We wanted to say thank you to these teams and bring them together to have a laugh and a positive focus, which is much needed in these difficult times. We are really looking forward to these workshops and welcome people working across the third and public sector to join us.”

Minoti echoes Sarah’s thoughts and adds “Our passion is to support people to lead happier, more fulfilling lives and through these workshops we aim to offer a unique, enjoyable and moving experience for those involved – literally and figuratively!”

As well as the charity workers, Sarah and Minoti will be running creative workshops for people living in Leeds to attend, with priority given to people living in Seacroft, Gipton and Holbeck. These are free to attend and funded by Leeds Inspired. To book a Leeds community workshop follow this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/creative-workshop-for-wellbeing-tickets-113494152064
